Cast in bronze after a copy of the artifact found on the wreck of the “BATAVIA” a Dutch ship which was wrecked off the West Australian Coast in the 17th Cent.
Was used for finding latitude by taking noon observations of the sun and some stars at night.
Copied from drawings supplied by the Fremantle Museum W.A.
Diameter 25 cms 1.5 cm thick
Weight 3 kg
